Five steps to your first check-in

Each step takes minutes, not meetings. Follow them in order and your team is tracking by the end of the day.

01

Sign up and get your workspace

Go to stage.done-it.app and start your free trial. No credit card, no sales call — you get your own Done-it environment immediately, ready to configure.

2 minutes
  • Have your company name and email ready — that's all you need.
  • Your environment is empty by default. Nothing is visible to your team until you invite them.
  • The trial gives you access to all features for 30 days.
02

Configure your account

Set your working hours, absence types and any sector-specific settings before you invite your team. Getting the basics right first means less cleanup later.

10 minutes
  • Set your default working hours and break rules — these apply to everyone unless overridden per person.
  • Add the absence types your team uses (sick days, ADV, leave, weerverlet for outdoor teams).
  • If you use CheckIn@Work (construction) or CIAO (cleaning), connect it in the Integrations settings.
03

Create your first project

A project is how Done-it organises hours and costs. Start with one real job — add the address, planned hours and any files your team needs on site.

5 minutes
  • Set planned hours as a budget — workers will see a live countdown of what's left.
  • Add the client address: your team can navigate to the site directly from the app.
  • Upload relevant files (plans, safety sheets, checklists) so they're accessible on site.
04

Add your team

Create accounts for your employees — all you need is their email address. Assign them to your project so they can check in straight away.

5 minutes
  • Each worker gets their own login. This is what makes check-ins tamper-proof.
  • Assign workers to the project before you invite them — so their first action is a check-in, not a setup task.
  • You can manage what each person sees: project info, their own hours only, or full dashboard access.
05

Invite your team to the app

Workers receive an email with a link to install the Done-it app. Once installed, they can check in and out immediately — hours appear in your dashboard in real time.

same day
  • The app is available on iOS and Android. Installation takes under a minute.
  • First check-in is the moment everything clicks. Most teams have their first real hours by the end of day one.
  • Workers can also check in via browser if they don't have the app yet.

And that's it — your team is live

No hardware, no IT project. Hours land in your dashboard the moment the first worker checks in.

What to expect

Your first week

Most teams are fully switched within a week. Here's what that looks like, day by day.

1

Day 1 — first real check-ins

Run the app alongside your current system. Don't throw away the paper yet — use both for a week to build confidence.

2

Day 3 — review the dashboard

Look at how hours are appearing per project and per person. Adjust anything that doesn't match how your team actually works.

3

Day 7 — payroll export

Run your first payroll export. Compare it to what you would have produced manually. This is usually the moment teams decide to switch fully.
